Day 4- Luxor: Valley of the Kings

The renowned Valley of the Kings where magnificent tombs were carved into the desert rocks, decorated richly, and filled with treasures for the afterlife by generations of pharaohs. Few remained unplundered through the centuries, but the tomb of Tutankhamun remained famously unfound until – local legend has it – Howard Carter’s horse stumbled on the entrance.

Day 5- Abu Simbel and return to Cairo

Abu Simbel is the world-renowned site where Ramses II ordered two sun temples carved from limestone mountains. At the Great Temple of Ra-Harakhte, four colossal statues of Ramses II sit majestically staring out across Lake Naseer. Six massive statues front the Temple of Hathor, dedicated to the cow-headed goddess of love and built in honor of Ramses’ favorite wife, Queen Nefertari.

Day 6- Legends of Cairo

The antique figure of the Al-Azhar Mosque dates back to the 10th century AD with a harmonious architecture blending the various historical styles spanning a millennium. it feels as though you begin a journey through time, stepping beneath the pinkish dome of the palace framing Tahrir Square.

Day 7- The Egyptian Museum and Coptic Cairo

Wander through the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities and an endearing chaos will greet you at every angle. Golden fragments are hidden amongst the dust with seemingly priceless artifacts lumped in piles. It is an ancient treasure chest to search through endless gems to find one that ultimately stands out.

Day 8- The Dead Sea to Amman and Departure

The journey back to Amman can take two hours with a scenic ride on route to dropping you at the airport for your international departure. But for an evening departure, this final transfer can include many intriguing stops, from the Roman ruins of Jarash to traditional villages, epic crusader castles to small markets in capital city Amman.
